1. Januar 2023
Ein neues Jahr hat begonnen und es wird uns in vielen Bereichen Veränderungen bringen.
Auch innerhalb unseres Clubs wird es Veränderungen geben.
Im ersten Quartal wird die letzte Clubzeitung (R1/23) erscheinen und wir werden die ShadowsMusicConvention nicht wieder aufnehmen.
Auch wenn die Corona-Pandemie inzwischen stark zurückgegangen ist, wird uns das Virus weiterhin erhalten bleiben und wir, das Team und auch unsere Zuschauer gehören der sogenannten Risikogruppe an. Und wenn da nicht zusätzlich gesundheitliche Gründe sowie das Alter wären, hätte man ja jetzt wieder eventuell weitermachen können, aber das Alter macht sich halt auch bemerkbar und somit muss man zurückste cken.
Somit war am 5. Oktober 2019 die 21. ShadowsMusicConvention für uns die letzte Veranstaltung. Bei der Verabschiebung am Ende der Veranstaltung gab ich den Fans noch folgendes mit auf dem Weg: Nächstes Jahr am 3. Oktober 2020, wenn alles gut läuft, dann sehen wir auch Marvin's Erben wieder hier!
Es lief nicht gut. Im Frühjahr 2020 fiel der Corona-Virus über Europa her und damit musste ich Anfang April 2020 die Veranstaltung absagen. Die Pandemie klang erst im Sommer 2022 ab.
Nach Einschätzung einiger Virologen jetzt, ist die Corona-Pandemie überwunden.
Nur: Was bedeuten diese Einschätzungen für den Einzelnen? Die Antwort lautet: sehr wenig. Denn Sars-Cov-2 ist eben weiterhin da. Hinzu kommen die RSV- und Grippe-Viren, die derzeit die Kliniken an die Belastungsgrenze und darüber hinaus bringen. Wer also besonders alt, immungeschwächt und/oder vorerkrankt ist, wird weiterhin auf einen gewissen Schutz angewiesen sein; wird weiterhin mit der Maske in den Supermarkt oder ins Theater gehen. Nur, dass er den Schutz künftig selbst verantworten muss!!!! Nach wie vor werden auch in Deutschland Menschen an oder mit Corona sterben.
Eventuell würden etliche Fans auch nicht zu der Veran staltung kommen, weil sie Angst vor eine Anstec kung haben, dann hätten wir auch ein finanzielles Problem. Außerden haben Gesundheit und Leben höchste Priorität und dshalb nehmen wir die Veranstaltung nicht wieder auf, um das Risiko zu minimieren.
In Nyborg/Dänenak & Tilburg/Niederlande haben im Herbst wieder Veranstaltungen stattgefunden.

A new year has begun and it will bring us changes in many areas.
There will also be changes within our club.
The first quarter will see the publication of the last club newspaper (R1/23) and we will not be resuming the ShadowsMusicConvention.
Even though the Corona pandemic has now greatly diminished, the virus will remain with us and we, the team and also our audience belong to the so-called risk group. And if it weren't for additional health reasons and age, we could have possibly continued now, but age also makes itself felt and so we have to take a back seat.
So on 5 October 2019, the 21st ShadowsMusicConvention was the last event for us. At the farewell at the end of the event, I gave the fans the following advice: Next year on 3 October 2020, if everything goes well, we will see Marvin's heirs here again!
Things did not go well. In the spring of 2020, the Corona virus hit Europe and with that I had to cancel the event at the beginning of April 2020. The pandemic did not subside until the summer of 2022.
According to some virologists now, the Corona pandemic is over.
But what do these assessments mean for the individual? The answer is: very little. Because Sars-Cov-2 is still there. Then there are the RSV and flu viruses, which are currently pushing the hospitals to the limit and beyond. So anyone who is particularly old, immunocompromised and/or pre-sick will continue to depend on a certain level of protection; will continue to go to the supermarket or theatre with a mask. The only difference is that in future they will have to take responsibility for their own protection!!!! People will still die from or with Corona in Germany.
Some fans might not come to the event because they are afraid of infection, in which case we would also have a financial problem. Besides, health and life have the highest priority and that is why we are not resuming the event to minimise the risk.
In Nyborg/Denmark & Tilburg/Netherlands events have taken place again in autumn.

Although the band The Shadows was founded more than 50 years ago and the group as such ceased to exist between 1990 and 2003, the followers of this music have not become fewer, rather more. To keep the music alive and to give all friends of this music a forum, there is the Cliff Richard and the Shadows Club Germany.
The club published the Reflections magazine every three months until March 2023, regularly organised the ShadowsMusicConvention event until 2019 and has a number of Shadows cover bands in its ranks.
So the ShadowsMusicConvention was an event for friends of instrumental, especially Shadows music. Various cover bands performed, several dealers offered records, CDs, videos, books, guitars and accessories. A wide variety of bands from all over Europe as well as solo artists performed at the events. An ex-Shadows member was often there as a "special guest".
Obwohl die Band The Shadows schon vor über 50 Jahren gegründet wurde und die Gruppe als solche zwischen 1990 und 2003 nicht mehr bestand, sind die Anhänger dieser Musik nicht weniger geworden, eher mehr. Um die Musik weiter am Leben zu erhalten und allen Freunden dieser Musik ein Forum zu geben, gibt es den Cliff Richard and the Shadows Club Germany.
Der Club publizierte alle drei Monate das Magazin Reflections bis März 2023, führte regelmäßig die Veranstaltung ShadowsMusicConvention bis 2019 durch und hat in seinen Reihen etliche Shadows-Cover-Bands.
Die ShadowsMusicConvention war also eine Veranstaltung für Freunde der Instrumental-, besonders der Shadows-Musik. Es traten immer verschiedene Coverbands auf, mehrere Händler boten Platten, CDs, Videos, Bücher, Gitarren und Zubehör an. Die unterschiedlichsten Bands aus ganz Europa sowie auch Solokünstler traten bei den Events auf. Als “special guest“ war auch öfter mal ein Ex-Shadows-Mitglied dabei.
